Best Festival in the South Okanagan 2019

Okanagan Fest of Ale Voted #2 Best Festival in the South Okanagan

The Okanagan Fest of Ale Society Board of Directors recently gathered to  raise a glass in thanks to all who voted for the Okanagan Fest of Ale as #2 Best Festival in the South Okanagan.

“It’s always nice to be recognized” says John Cruickshank, Okanagan Fest of Ale Society President. “In a region known for its festivals it is quite an honour to be recognized as one of the best”.

The Okanagan Fest of Ale  is one of the largest and longest running celebrations of craft beer in the Pacific North West.  The  2-day festival features craft beer, craft cider,  fabulous food, and live entertainment.  The annual event attracts nearly 5,000 festival goers. The event is widely regarded as one of the best loved events of its kind by patrons and participants alike.

Each year proceeds from the event are distributed to local charitable organizations.  To date nearly $700,000 has been distributed to over 50 local charitable organizations.  “The charitable element is something we are very proud of.  It distinguishes us from other similar events”, says Cruickshank.

Cruickshank surmised “On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Okanagan Fest of Ale Society, the Society would like to extend thanks to the Penticton Western News, all the other nominees and recipients of the Best of Awards and to all who voted for the Fest of Ale as their favourite South Okanagan Festival.  We look forward to welcoming you all  to Celebrate 25 years of Cheer with us at the 25th annual Okanagan Fest of Ale April 17 & 18, 2020.”
